Drydock
Watercolor
Private Collection
My ultimate attempt at the Scruffy ol' Boatyard genre, Drydock
was to be all I could make it in terms of composition, drawing,
and color.
I painted it entirely from my pencil notes and a small color
study from on-location, to test myself as much as for any other
reason.
The zig zag composition, the stains on the pavement, the makeshift
nature of so much of the operation at hand, were all parts of
the flavor of the locale. |
