Painted by a nervous first time parent (me) wondering how I was
going to keep it all going, this painting of my wife was worked
out in my small studio in Brooklyn. New York.
In the back of my mind, I recall thinking of Vermeer's quiet
interiors, painted in his small home with his many children probably
running roughshod through each room. I was equally inspired by
Harvey Dinnerstein's wonderful use of his family and immediate
surroundings as subject matter, and thought I could do the same. |
