What a joyous time, painting with Curt Hanson and other friends again in New England, on Monhegan Island. I laid this in and painted it head-on, over a period of three evenings. It was cold, and I worked with gloves on and the whole bit. As much as anything, it's purely the joy of being alive, to be in such a place, and to be able to re-create all the feelings I have in such moments.
